We've been in the new house for two months and we have finally finished our offices with the exception of a few small details. I'm still trying to find the perfect decor for between my shelves, and I also have an entirely open wall that I'm not quite sure what to do with. My office is completely functional and inviting, so figuring out what to do with this wall is not of great urgency to me. What we have done so far though is major progress! Ta-da! The look I was going for was bright, white, and classy. I think I've done a decent job!
I was originally planning on putting up white build-in shelving on an entire wall, but we had to shift gears a little bit because I was being indecisive about how to fill the entire 10 x 12 wall and it's actually very expensive if you don't build it from scratch. After nixing that idea (for now), I came to terms with only having two slender shelves instead of a whole wall, and then made everything symmetrical.
I shared my old home office setup a few months ago, but obviously redid it since I'm not sharing my office with Ross anymore! You can check out that post here. The only major difference between my previous post and this one is the layout and my new shelving! The square cube shelf and my desk are the exact same as what I had before, I just separated the cube storage from the desk and got two more legs so the desk is standing on it's own now. I've also upgraded my monitor since then, and got these awesome gray storage boxes! Major upgrade from the boxes I had before! They are super sturdy and even have a little bit of a shimmer to them, which I love!
This chandelier is one of my favorite parts about this office! I knew it was perfect the second I saw it at the store! Honestly, pictures don't do it justice! It has 60 diamond-style strands with 7 diamonds on each strand. There are 4 LED lightbulbs that are included and it does have the capability to be dimmed if you get a dimmable switch (which we did since it's so bright). Home Depot has it for about $200, but I found it on Amazon for $168!
On the other side of my office (the side I get to look at all day!) I found these three square quote photos and placed them above my doorway. There were a lot of different quote options, but I made sure to get one white and two blacks (or vice versa) to create the contrast.
